Berry Bros. & Rudd

Berry Bros. & Rudd is Britain’s oldest wine and spirit merchant, selling wine and spirits to both commercial and private customers on a global scale.

Background to the project

Berry Bros. & Rudd required an overground wine cellar for storage of wines bought as investment by their clients. The storage facility needed to replicate the traditional underground cellar environment with a very stable temperature and humidity conditions, as well as being capable of storing up to 3million bottles of wine.

Scope of the project

Following a successful tender bid, T-SQUARED were appointed the contract to design and build the new storage facility within an existing empty warehouse facility.

The scope of work included:

• Turnkey project management services
• Design and build of a temperature controlled storage facility
• Installation of HVAC systems
• Installation of sprinklers, lighting, power, and smoke ventilation

Timescales

The project was completed in December 2008.
