Background to the project

The Freescale Semiconductor East Kilbride site is to be sold off with Freescale involvement being restricted to the Engineering Support Building. This project package involved relocating Freescale personnel and their working environments to the bottom two floors of the ESB.

Scope of the project

T-SQUARED was commissioned to carry out the design, construction, installation and relocation of the works which included:

• Creation of a New Products Introduction (NPI) test area
• Creation of a Product Distribution Centre (PDC)
• Creation of a kitchen/breakout area
• Creation of additional meeting rooms, network room and shower rooms

Services included the installation of a close control air conditioning system, electrics including HV transformer, liquid nitrogen, sprinkler tank and pumphouse, data, ESD raised flooring, acoustic walls and compressor installation.

Timescales

Detailed design commenced in March 2011 and project completed at the end of June 2011.
